The Garden Project

27th June - 16th August 2008

The garden project ran for the whole summer and builds on the ideas of growth and regeneration prevalent in the city.

The project consisted of a group exhibition of four artists Miriam de Burca/Belfast, Aoife Desmond/Dublin, Sandy Smith/Glasgow and Rupert White/Cornwall, in Catalyst Arts. Running parallel was an extensive programme of events and activities taking place in the gallery, around the city and further afield.

The focus of the Garden Project was (re)development, with workshops such as seed-bomb making, sandcastle building, moss graffiti and visits from organic farmers and environmental consultants.

The exhibition focused on the specifics of place, relating the themes of the project to the city, to the gallery space and to the nature of Catalyst itself.
