Felt experience project
2nd - 27th January 2007
Curated by Angie Halliday
The exhibition looks at the ways in which artists give shape to the notion of trauma. The artists express rather than simply report events, by using a range of visual and acoustic elements.
The exhibition aims to look at how artists can create a language to express the felt experience. Trauma is said to be un-representable, but through the resources of visual art it is possible for artists to create a space for dialogue and interaction. Also featured in the show are two documentary video works by artists who created workshops with children survivors of trauma. The workshops featured in the project took place in August 2006 in Marikina City, Manila, Philippines. An exhibition of video works.
