Catalyst Arts will be UNDERCONSTRUCTION 1st – 24th April and would like to invite you to the events by one of the collectives: EARS
For all things that buzz, bleep or bloop…EARS is a collective operating out of the School Of Creative Arts at Queen’s University Belfast. Whether bending circuits, performing with laptops or out in the streets capturing the sounds of the city, EARS promote all things electronic and artistic, hosting events and workshops in and around Belfast since 2010.
EARS presents an opportunity to blur the boundaries between existing forms of electronic music making through a series of innovative workshops. Drawing on the “Beyond Soundscape” theme of this year’s Sonorities 2013 at Queen’s, workshop participants will learn how to build both physical and digital instruments, find new way to interact using them, and stage a public performance as result. In addition to engaging members of the public, the exhibition will also forge new connections between artists, improvisers and musicians at the Sonic Arts Research Centre who have yet to work together.
